Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th the 28th of October, 1967. Roberts is the fourth Roberts generation to reside in Atlanta starting with her grandfather who was a farmer, John Pendleton Roberts. Early on, her father was interested in theatre. While a student at Emory University he appeared in numerous productions in and outside of campus. When he was stationed in Biloxi in Mississippi, he received his induction into the airforce in 1953. Betty Lou Bredemus was part of the show as well. They got married in 2005, and welcomed their first child, Eric Anthony in 1956. Walter was enrolled in Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In 1957, the couple quit the Air Force and Walter began studying at Tulane University. In 1960 the family moved to Decatur Georgia where Walter began working for Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. Walter and Betty Lou financed their own production of a local Sunday morning children's show, Bum Bum and His Buddies. The following year, they started the Actors and Writers Workshop which ran for six years. In the meantime, they also had two children Lelisa (called Lisa) Billingsley in the year 1965 as well as Julia (called Julie) in 1967.
