Katherine Heigl discusses her experiences living in a white bubble affected the way she parented her adopted family of multiracial origins. In an interview with the "Firefly Lane" actress, along with "Grey's Anatomy" actress admitted her body didn't matter to her, however, after speaking to her adopted sister from South Korea about how society had treated them, she was aware of the stark differences they were. "I inquired of my sister, Meg to tell me if she'd been treated one way when she went walking around with our parents, and another way when she was out alone without them. She replied, "Oh yeah, always!" Heigl said to Parents, "That made me realise how foolish I was." According to the actor, she was furious. But, she was determined to channel that anger towards aiding her adopted daughters. Heigl along with her husband of 13 years -- the musician Josh Kelley -- have four-year-old son Joshua Bishop Kelley, Joshua Bishop Kelley, Jr. The couple adopted their daughters Nancy Leigh, 12, from South Korea in 2009 and Adalaide eight, who is Black, in 2012.
